Card Crafting with my Niece

Today I was able to create Birthday cards for my sister-in-law. I had a little helper, my niece Lily! Lily loves to make crafts and is always up for scrap booking, card making, or just plan glitter gluing. Her idea for her mom's card was cute and she told me everything that she wanted on it. Her mother was very excited to receive such a special card from her little girl!

I made a card too!

Arrrrrrr Ladies!

Made this uber-cute pirate hat for niece Jaida

I added red eyes to the skull later, thought it needed a little color.

Instructions:
1.  Just cut out hat shape and skull from Silhouette Studio on my Silhouette Cameo Machine.
2. Took a pink headband from Dollar Tree and painted it black.
3. Stapled ends together to create a two-sided hat.
4. Attached hat to headband with Mod Podge
5. Added craft feathers for that ocean look
6. Spritzed with a Smooch Spritz glitter to add a girly shimmer.(photo does not show as well)
7. Finally, used stick on gems for the eyes- errie!

Sure hope my little pirate princess likes her head gear! I will post more photo's after Halloween!

Ghost Friend!

Today I made a cheese-cloth and starch ghost. It was so simple! Here's what you need:

Cheesecloth (found at a fabric store)
Heavy Duty Starch Spray (Wal-mart)
Soda bottle (full or empty)
Ball for head ( I used plastic bags and wrapped them in tape, you could use Styrofoam ball too.)
Wire Hanger

First I made the head out of plastic bags and taped it to the top of the soda bottle. Then I unwrapped my hanger and made the arms. Be sure that the hanger ends point down or the wire pokes thru the cheese cloth.
Then I draped a single layer of cheesecloth over the skeleton. I trimmed up some of the cloth so that it didn't look just like cloth.
Finally, spray the heck out of it! I did about 3 heavy coats of spray.
After all the starch dries, carefully peel away the cheese cloth. Mine was a little flimsy, but he stands great and has a flowing look.
In the 'creation' stage

Who is that at my door?

Hello Mr. Ghost, come on in!
